Sculpture L'Ange Protecteur in Zurich, Switzerland

Walking through Zürich Hauptbahnhof (Zurich Central Station), I came across this public art created by Niki de Saint Phalle. The sculpture, dating back to 1997, is titled L’Ange Protecteur. That literally means Guardian Angel.

Works by Niki de Saint Phalle

It was my first encounter with her work at a railway station. Before, I’d seen a lot of art by this artist in the streets of Hanover. Speaking about Zurich, the sculpture raises the question of whether the Guardian Angel protects the train travelers. We don’t know.
