Old city hall of Bamberg, Germany

The first mention of the old town hall (Altes Rathaus) in Bamberg dates back to 1387. The building is famous for its location on an artificial island in the Regnitz River and the façade created by Johann Anwander. [German]

Unfortunately, the frescoes of the artist Anwander got lost over time. Nowadays, you see a reconstruction created by the painter Anton Greiner dating back to the 1960s.

Today the building houses a collection of Meissen porcelain and Strassbourg faience, generally known as Ludwig Collection Bamberg (Sammlung Ludwig Bamberg).
