At the Museum of Local History (Kaprun Museum), I was told about influences that have shaped Kaprun and its surroundings.

Another interesting DOCUMENTA (13) venue I visited today: The Grimm Brothers Museum (Brüder-Grimm-Museum). I found it at the Palais Bellevue in Kassel.

In 2012, I visited the dOCUMENT (13) in Kassel. The Fridericianum was the first building I came across on this trip. It offered a catching story for museum buffs like me. The Fridericianum saw its completion in 1779. It was one of the first public museums ever built.

The museum for Lower Saxon ethnology and history was built in the years 1903/07 by architect Alfred Sasse in the style of historicism. First, the museum’s name was Vaterländisches Museum (National Museum). In 1928, it got the name of its founder Wilhelm Bomann. [German]

The first stop on our city walk in Bonn: The birthplace of composer Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). At the Beethoven-Haus, I was especially impressed by a collection of hearing aids for the deaf artist.

The Reckturm is a tower dating back to 13th century. After its demolition it was reconstructed in the style of 15th century. The name Reckturm (reck = rack) refers to its use as prison and place for torture. Today it houses a small museum for weapons and about torment.

You find this sundial on the facade of the Fembohaus in Nuremberg. The Fembohaus is the home of the Nuremberg City Museum. Inside, you see a city model of Nuremberg before World War II.

Now that I call a cosy museum. The photo shows the garden of the Folk Life Museum in Graz. Yes, there are hammocks below the trees! The museum tells about social and cultural changes up to the present.

View of Eggenberg Palace (Schloss Eggenberg) taken from the nearby rose mound. Schloss Eggenberg has been a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2010.

Tonight, I visited the opening of an exhibition with a work by the German artist Hasso von Henninges named “5 Farben” (5 colours). In this work, the artist displayed all possible combinations if you have combined 5 different colours in paintings made of 3 colours (example).

This pic is a view from the roof of the Stahlwelt. The Stahlwelt is an exhibition hall promoting products made of steel. The small hill in the middle reminds me of the Erzberg, a mining area for ore in the Austrian state of Styria.

It took this photo inside the exhibition hall of the Stahlwelt in Linz. This is a hall with an excellent exhibition about steel and products made of steel. Well, I am part of this photo. Can you see me?
