The Pöstlingberg Railway (Pöstlingbergbahn) links the main square of Linz with the Pöstling Hill (Pöstlingberg), which offers a great view of the city. The Pöstlingbergbahn is known as one of the world’s steepest adhesion-only railways.

On a sunny spring day, I made a trip with the Trenčín Electric Railway from Trenčianska Teplá to the Slovakian spa Trenčianske Teplice. I was surprised to hear that the announcements on the train loudspeaker ran in Slovakian, English, and German!
Chiemsee Railway in Prien
It is pretty old: The Chiemsee Railway (Chiemseebahn) dates back to 1887. Though this railway doesn’t exactly meet the definition of a tramway, it is considered the oldest still operating steam tramway in the world.
