The 2nd day of the “Gipfelklänge 2013” started with a concert by a brass band in front of the Hotel Fahrnberger. No chance to sleep any minute longer in the cosy “Genießerzimmer” of the hotel. The Genießerzimmer are upgraded rooms offered in the Austrian state of Lower Austria.

Florianer Tanzlgeiga at the Gipfelklänge 2013
At the end of a long day of hiking we listened to the Florianer Tanzlgeiga sitting inside an inn and having some pigling for dinner. The group played pretty lively so some guests started to dance spontaneously.
The Floriani Tanzlgeiga offered an interesting mix of music. They played classic pieces as well as local ballads. The ladies sung the local songs in a broad dialect which made the event even more cosy.

The hiking tour with music named ‘Gipfelklänge’ has started. After a small hike along fodder meadows and fruit trees, we came across the group ‘Saxofour’. While having local tidbits bought at a nearby farmer’s house as lunch, we all had a good time listening to their spirited music.
Hotel Mandl-Scheiblechner in Göstling
At the Hotel Mandl-Scheiblechner, I had the chance to sleep in a canopy bed for the first time. As I was exhausted from my hiking tour, I didn’t sleep differently from a standard bed. The atmosphere of the room was superb, though.

Restaurant ‘Speisesaal’ in Graz
The restaurant Speisesaal is located on the ground floor of Hotel Wiesler. I think it is an ideal venue for having a burger or steak while listening to music presented by a DJ.
Wall of Hope in Vienna
At the railway station Matzleinsdorferplatz one can see this artwork made of ceramic tiles. Students of about 20 Viennese schools put down their dreams and hopes for the 21st century in this artwork.
