This steam tugboat saw its completion in 1922/23 at the shipyard Ruthof in Regensburg. Originally named Ruthof, it was renamed Érsekcsanád after World War II. Today it is part of the Danube Navigation Museum Regensburg.

On my way from the railway station to the centre of Regensburg, I discovered the city’s emblem at an oriel window: Two white keys in a red field. The keys are the attribute of Saint Peter, the patron of Regensburg Cathedral.

Donaustauf Castle (Burgruine Donauaustauf) is a castle ruin near the Danube River in the Bavarian region of Upper Palatinate (Oberpfalz). From the ruins, you have a good view of the nearby Walhalla memorial. In the photo above, one can see the columns of the former castle chapel.
