Lebenberg Castle (Castel Monteleone)
Lebenberg Castle in Tscherms (Cermes) is one of the most common castle motifs when promoting the region of South Tyrol. The castle is privately owned by the van Rossem family. It is open for visits on guided tours.
In earlier years, this castle was also called Löwenberg Castle. Its Italian name Castel Monteleone still referst to this. An intriguing wall fresco in the Knights’ Hall depicts the family tree of the early owners. The depiction shows 12 generations of the Fuchs family, with a total of 264 people.
Also worth seeing is the three-storey chapel from the 14th century and thus in the Gothic style. The mirrors hall shines with its Venetian mirrors in the rococo style. In the Napoleonic Hall, a tiled stove from the period of the Empire will surprise you.
