While waiting for my connection train, I came across this DMU (diesel multiple unit) dating back to 1935. Before WWII, it ran as one of the first high-speed trains in Germany. After 1945, the train depicted above (SVT 137 225) operated for the GDR government.
Museum track No 24 in Leipzig
Leipzig Central Station is known for its colossal concourse with no less than 24 tracks. That way it is one of the largest railway stations in Germany. Track No 24 is dedicated to museum pieces only. The Railcar SVT 137 225 is one of five exhibited vehicles related to the history of the German railway.
