The coach tour started on a rainy afternoon. Sitting on a coach on a cold day doesn’t sound that cozy but on the other hand they offered an intriguing add-on: There would be a wine tasting. Ok, that sounds heart-warming, doesn’t it?
The wine tasting was special to me. It was my first degustation about dessert wines only. And it was a very special feeling to taste wine while moving slowly through the green area of an alpine valley.
So I got two explanations at once. First, a nice lady, who was one of three sommeliers at Hotel Alpenrose explained to us the different wines. During the breaks the coachman explained the different peaks of the Wetterstein mountain range near us and about some details how people used to live in that part of the alps.
After coming back to the hotel I didn’t mind the bad weather any more. I learned a lot about the nature around Lermoos and about some Austrian dessert wines. And I got hungry. For some cake.
