Ulický Pond in Telč

Together with the Štěpnický Pond, the Ulický Pond surrounds the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Telč. During my walk, the steeples of the churches Kostel svatého Jakuba Staršího and Kostel Jména Ježíš reflected in its water. [German]

Telč and its ponds

A total of five ponds in and around Telč coin the scenery. Of these, the Štěpnický pond and the Ulický pond are of particular importance. In earlier times, they protected the old town as a sort of broad moat. Today, however, they open up beautiful reflections to the walker.

Parish Church of St. James

The single steeple depicted in the photo belongs to the parish church of St. James (Kostel svatého Jakuba Staršího). From the observation deck of the nearly 60-meter-high tower, you have a beautiful view of the old town and the two ponds.

Jesuit Church Name of Jesus

The former Jesuit church Name of Jesus (Kostel Jména Ježíš) is recognizable by the double towers. The Baroque church offers a remarkable: only one of its side facades borders the central square of the town of Telč.
